Outreach Team
Mission Statement
The AVC Outreach Team seeks to connect with the wider community of Gloucester and Cape Ann to increase our awareness and mutual understanding.
Our Goals
- To educate the AVC community about non-profit work in Gloucester and beyond;
- To provide volunteers to local organizations;
- To participate in community learning activities;
- To encourage AVC participants to meet the needs of the wider community.

Outreach Team Initiatives
- Continue to support local organizations including:
- The Grace Center
- Open Door;
- Action Inc., and
- Pathways
- Collaborate with Temple Ahavat Achim to support STEP (Israeli / Palestine Scientist Program)
- Advocate for equitable and affordable local housing solutions
- Support the Gloucester Reads Project by:
- Leading one of the book discussions
- Assess and communicate community needs and opportunities for congregation involvement.
- Distribute AVC Outreach Funds to local/international organizations

Shelters in
Ciudad Juárez, Mexico
On the 2nd Wednesday of the month, we prepare healthy bagged lunches for 35 guests of Action Shelter.
Ongoing support of Open Door programming.
Instruments and Book Drives for four shelters for migrants.
