Pastoral Care & Care Team
We are a Church of Caring and Connection
Mission Statement
The Care Team offers compassionate support to those in need in our church and local community: the sick, those approaching the end of life, nursing home residents, caregivers, the bereaved, shut-ins, and those who are new to our community.
Objectives
Pray for those on our Care List, make visits and phone calls, send cards and e-mails, celebrate birthdays, provide meals, offer rides to church and doctor’s appointments, grocery shop, and assist in collations.
- Our Pastor, Rev. Sue, and our Associate for Pastoral Care, Rev. ElizaBeth Emery are available for pastoral counseling and support.

Care Team Initiatives
- Care Team Meeting – each quarter:
- Discuss and evaluate our ministry, and
- Provide support and training to team members
- Create Sub-Teams of Care Team Members:
- Visiting Team: make in-home and hospital/nursing care visits
- Meal Team: prepare and deliver meals;
- Celebration Team: write cards, attend po-pup gatherings, etc.
- Spring Zoom Book Discussion, “How Can I Help” – Led by Rev. ElizaBeth
- Team Members Join Rev. ElizaBeth During Care Visits – for “hands-on” training
- Weekly Visits to Seacoast – Rev. ElizaBeth and Mary Ann Kiely
- Services at Seacoast – Led by Mary Ann Kiely with Care Team members:
- Third Wednesday of the month (1st floor), and
- Third Thursday of the month (Memory Unit)
- Celebrate Elder Birthdays with Pop-Up Gatherings
- Send Cards for Birthdays, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day (with flower deliveries)
- Send Cards/Flowers and Visit those Who have Lost a Loved One
- Provide a “Ministry Moment” During Worship Annually – to highlight our ministry
- Prepare a Monthly Report to the AVC Board
